CAREER

Jean Charvin Dumas is a Quebec aquarellist residing in Longueuil, on the south shore of the St-Lawrence River accross from Montreal.

Charvin's watercolors are largely inspired by the vast canadian spaces, the forests, lakes, rivers and seascapes of a country he has travelled extensively and has come to love dearly. His favourite painting places are the Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the North Shore and the Lower St-Lawrence Valley in Quebec. A generous place has also been given in his work to images collected while travelling in France, Belgium, Austria and the USA.

Charvin, who has perfected his art with Roland Palmaerts, a renowned aquarellist and longstanding friend, is a signature member of the Institute of Figurative Arts. He has participated in several exhibitions in Belgium and in Quebec and his paintings can be found in private collections in Canada and in Europe.

He is represented, in the Montreal area, by Galerie Parole in St-Sauveur and Galerie du Vieux Village in Boucherville.
